Informal letters

Scrisorile informale(informal letters)- sunt de obicei scrise prietenilor, persoanelor cunoscute, iar modul de redactare nu este atât de pretenţios ca în cazul scrisorii formale. Totuşi, stilul informal trebuie păstrat pe tot parcursul scrisorii. Motivul emiterii unei astfel de scrisori este de a transmite ceva interesant(o experienţă plăcută, o invitaţie, explicarea unor sentimente sau păreri personale, etc.). Stilul informal include limbaj colocvial, expresii familiale, ton personal, adresare directă, emotivitate, folosirea frecventă a diatezei active, prescurtări, construcţii gramaticale simple, cuvinte de legătură obişnuite, vocabular mai puţin avansat.

Scrisoare informală încep şi se termină cu precizarea prenumelui destinatarului şi expeditorului

ex. Dear Christin                                       Lots of love/kisses/all the best, Susan

Obs. O scrisoare informală nu începe niciodată cu formula Dear friend!

De asemenea, scrisoarea informală poate începe „brusc” cu motivul trimiterii sale, iar încheierea poate fi la fel.

ex. I thought you wanted to know the fantastic news I have!
